A perfect response from a passionate team and fanbase. Perhaps the greatest gift jt could have given us was leaving.

He’s “moved on.”

So have we.

Glad it's over and now we can continue to the rest of the season.

I didn’t like seeing the jersey thrown at him, or the rubber snakes on the ice. Highly enjoyed the chants and the booing.

I don’t think it’ll be the same on april 1st. Probably won’t be welcoming him with open arms, but I believe the 3 solid hours of booing and chanting are a one time thing.

Good luck to him in TO. Sadly, it looks like the leafs defensive play and aversion to any kind of physical play isn’t going to take them far in the playoffs. Was kind of hoping for an Isles/Leafs series.

Don’t let that win last night go to your ego.

The Leafs have flaws, as do the Isles. Leafs tend to play down to their opponent. You have no clue how this team will perform in the playoffs. Last night was a kick in the ass, kudos to the Islanders. But it was in no way a measuring stick so-to-speak.

Meh,

It sucks for JT but whatever. He saw the way those fans reacted. He's a pro athlete, he owes them nothing. Hell you'd think people who live in New York would understand that loyalty isn't a given in this world.

The team clearly emptied its collective nuts the night before so who cares? They really miss Dermott and it shows that regardless of what happens(probable first round exit due to defence) Dubas will be on the lookout for a Dman this summer.

On a sadder note could the Leafs coaching get back to basics with Sparks; Don't overreact and pull yourself out of position, keep your stick between you legs to cover the five hole when sliding across.

The sky is falling. The sky is falling.
Winnipeg had a bad stretch recently and lost 7-1 and nobody thinks they are a bad team now. No need to be reactionary. Time to learn from this; leafs are. Young team. Get guys healthy. They will be alright.

Don't the Leafs play on the Island later in the season? I don't think it'll be over until after that game.

I'm sure you will continue to hear about it if the Islanders go further in the playoffs than the Leafs

I wonder if Tampa should be concerned for their no show against the Bruins.

The Bruins had 20 more shots than the TB. TB Lost 4-1.

Don’t let the dumb media concern you fellas. Enjoy the games.

And the Islanders will hear it when the Leafs win the cup with him.

Or not, because Leaf fans don’t care about the Islanders. Seriously. The Habs/Sabres/Bruins/Canuck/TB all present much better rivalries.

Move on, it was one game. The Leafs are the ones that ended up with the all star center. The Isles should be envy not the Leafs.

Everybody put a huge cash wager on the Leafs first round exit, it's a lock. Lol

It's the same roster as last year plus John Tavares. If by some stroke of luck we're healthy, Andersen's rested and we get home ice we're in the running to at elast get past the first round. Still it wouldn't shock me if they don't make it.

Yeah, all those chants and signs sure proved that

All good fun, don’t take one game too seriously. Leaf fans get hammered for doing that so don’t be a hypocrite.

I’ll laugh when the Islanders miss the playoffs. Last night was their Stanley Cup. It’s all downhill from here.

Yeah everyone that seems so sure of it probably isn't running out to wager cause it's a coin flip. Even if they don't get home ice look at their road record. With the Leafs depth and goaltending they are a brutal first round opponent for anyone.

You're facks & hacks Jumbo 16 - Johnny has been all class his entire career.
I know there's some classy Isles fans out there for sure, but the "typical new yawka"
Isles fans are just all trash & no class. JT will be rewarded soon enough boys...

The Isles won't make it past the first round. Book it.
